About Lynne and Tessa
Two young women, boredom and a camera.
You’ve, probably, already seen the results of just such a situation…
Lynne, 20, and Tessa, 19, once swore that they too could be creative (spoon handles!) and began shooting senseless videos of themselves.
The whole thing began as we were cruising around Frankfurt in a dream- like state and had no idea what we should do with our newly acquired video camera and an empty weekend.
A summer night, the car windows turned down, the city skyline in view.

It just so happened that at this time the radio was piping out Weezer’s “Island in the Sun” and we had the car windows down and, as usual, were being too loud and extrovert as we bopped along to the song. A few years earlier we would have only dared to do this behind closed doors, but now the action in the car inevitably lead us out into the public. So it happened that passersby began to laugh and we thought that we could “sing our songs onto video and put them on the net with Google.”
So, before we knew it, we could be seen on the net. Something that left us a feeling a little cold at first.
In fact, the main source of our chill was the ‘cold feet’ - as the cliché has it - that we began to feel when we thought of how Google’s world-wide internet public might respond to us. Thus, we were very pleased and surprised when we found ourselves shooting up into the Top Ten of the said site (just to say it again: video.google.com).
Thereafter, only a little persuasiveness was necessary to convince Lynne that Google Idol was the right place for our videos.
Google Idol - the site that unites creative and humorous people, as well as those with a knack for craziness, by letting the said persons step forward in competition against one other. The users vote for their favourite performers. We crossed the first hurdle thanks to our much appreciated video, “Barbie Girl,” (Amen!) that gave us quite a jump on our competitors. At the moment, we are once again at the beginning with a video of Avril Lavignes’ “Skater Boy”. The appropriate link can be found in the section, “Video Gallery”. We thank all those that have supported us up to this point and all those who, hopefully, will continue to support us into the future. We wish all the best to all our fans with the small hope that we can continue to bring a smile to your faces with our video magic.

Zwei Mädchen, Langeweile und eine Kamera.
Was daraus entstehen kann, habt ihr vielleicht alle bereits gesehen…
Lynne, 20, und Tessa, 19, schimpften sich einst kreativ (Löffelstiel !) und begannen sinnlose Videos von sich zu drehen.
So wirklich angefangen hat das Ganze als wir schlaftrunken durch die Straßen Frankfurts fuhren und nicht wussten, was wir mit unserer neu erworbenen Kamera und der sinnlosen Wochenend-Freizeit anfangen sollten. Sommernacht, Fenster runter, Skyline im Blickwinkel.

Es begab sich zu der Zeit, dass das Radio „Island In The Sun“ von Weezer dudelte und wir – wie immer – lautstark und bei geöffnetem Fenster mitgröhlten. Bereits einige Jahre zuvor betrieben wir dies im stillen Kämmerlein, doch die Aktion im Auto führte unverhofft zu Publikum. So kam es nun dazu, dass…. Passanten lachten und wir dachten,
„auf’s Video singen und bei Google in’s Netze bringen“.
So war’s geschehen, schon ziemlich bald
War’n wir zu sehen, uns wurd’s ganz kalt…

… Also, kurzum, wir begannen eben zu frieren und die sprichwörtlich kalten Füße zu bekommen, weil wir keineswegs wussten, wie uns das breite Publikum der Google Video Gemeinschaft aufnehmen würde. Umso mehr erfreute und überraschte es uns, dass wir binnen kürzester Zeit in den Top Ten der eben erwähnten Seite (Nur zu Wiederholung: video.google.com) wieder zu finden waren. Nachfolgend dauerte es ein wenig Überredungskunst, Lynne davon zu überzeugen, dass Google Idol für unsere Videos genau das Richtige wäre. Dieses Google Idol, das kreative, humorvolle und eventuell einen Hang zu Verwirrung habende Menschen vereint, besteht daraus, Videos dieser eben erwähnten Menschen gegeneinander antreten zu lassen. Die User voten hierbei für ihren Favoriten. Die erste Hürde nahmen wir dank zahlreicher Befürworter unseres eingesendeten Videos Barbie Girl (Amen!) mit einem traumhaften Vorsprung vor unserem Gegner. Momentan sind wir mit Avril Lavignes „Skater Boy“ erneut am Start. Den passenden Link dazu findet ihr unter der Sektion „Video Gallery“.
